The disk "Russian Music of the 19th Century. Part Two" introduces readers to the work of major composers of the second half of the 19th century. Among them: M. Mussorgsky, A. Borodin, N. Rimsky-Korsakov, P. Tchaikovsky, S. Taneyev, S. Rachmaninoff, and A. Glazunov. The names of these authors are traditionally associated with the blossoming of the Russian classical music school, and their works have long been included in the golden fund of world music. The turn of the XIX-XX centuries in Russian culture was marked by new trends and various kinds of experiments in the field of the content and expressive means of music. The work of composers of a younger generation is also considered in the project. They are, first of all, A. Scriabin, I. Stravinsky - reformers of Russian music, who determined the ways of its development in the XX century, as well as A. Grechaninov, A. Lyadov, N. Tcherepnin, V. Rebikov and others, without an overview of whose works the picture of Russian musical life of the turn of the century would not be complete. The book contains creative portraits of these composers and characterizations of their most significant works. The statements of the composers themselves and the works of outstanding musicologists of the XIX-XX centuries are quoted. Very valuable, in our opinion, are the artistic observations of N. Findeisen, G. Riman, V. Karatygin, L. Sabaneyev, N. Kashkin, as well as V. Stasov - a contemporary and biographer of many composers of the XIX century. All descriptions of the music are accompanied by numerous audio examples, totaling more than 6 hours. There is extensive illustrative and video material.
