Qi Bayshi (1864-1957) - a famous Chinese artist, calligrapher and engraving carved seals Juang Ke of the XX century. At birth received the name Chunji, bore the second name Weitsin. Subsequently, I changed them to Juan and Pinshen, respectively. He created Bayshi (white stone) under pseudonymers, Tzeshanguan Zhuchzhe (temporary guest of the mountain house), Jipin Laozhen (old Jespin) and others. Born in the district of Santan of the province of Hunan.
Created beautiful paintings in a free style in the genres of Huanyao, Shanshui and Jenu. He held the posts of a professor of the State Art School of Baypin, an honorary professor of the Central Institute of Fine Arts, Honorary Director of the Beijing Academy of Painting and Chairman of the Union of Chinese Artists. He was awarded the title of the Folk Artist of China.
In 1956, by decision of the World Council of the World, he was awarded the International World of World. In 1963, on the eve of the centenary of the artist’s birth, he was recognized as an “outstanding figure in world culture”
