Tamara Volina came to Moscow from the village, entered the university and in the first year married the professor’s son. But the marriage did not bring the girl happiness: the husband was jealous and drunkard, and arranged Tamara and their daughter Nastya with a terrible life. Nastya grew under the drunken cries of her father and the ringing of broken dishes, seeing Tamara"s fear. Due to the constant scandals of the house, Nastya could not cope with her studies, and once the school principal-Evgeny Pavlovich Ilyin called Tamaru. The ordinary conversation turned into a real drama and entailed the unexpected consequences for the heroes.
