Boris and Olga Morozov are a wealthy married couple. After a planned examination at the medical center, they learn that their 17-year-old daughter Julia is actually a stranger child who was confused in the hospital with another baby. The Morozovs make inquiries and find out that their native daughter - Yana - is growing in the Mikhailov family. This family and her life are not at all like their own: the Mikhailovs live a five of them in a modest apartment. In crowded but not mad. Families get acquainted with each other, and the Morozov decide to find a legal opportunity to take Jan to themselves. But the Mikhailovs do not suit this at all ...
