The publication presents the characteristics of numerous works of applied art of the late Middle Ages (trellises, embroideries, elegant miniature trinkets: chests, combs, mirror cases, writing tablets made of carved bone, metal and wood), as well as frescoes and miniatures of secular content. Artistic monuments are considered in the thematic diversity that existed within the private residential interior in the XIV-XV centuries, and where the heroes of chivalric novels, fairy-tale characters and poetic allegories 'came to life', finding their visual embodiment. Interpretation of the subjects of castle decoration will help the reader to better understand the way of life of people of the late Middle Ages, their perception of such categories of human existence as love, time, death, deed, refracted through the prism of aristocratic models of existence, and ultimately - will allow you to look into the magic mirror of their own ideals, in which looked at this bright and interesting era. The disk is richly illustrated and intended for a wide range of readers.
