The brilliant Russian painter Ilya Repin (1844-1930) is one of the few Russian artists who was honored with lifetime fame. The master's work is rightly considered the pinnacle of realism in Russian art. In his paintings he created a monumental heroic image of the Russian people.
Repin was subject to all genres (he did not write only battle scenes) and types of art: painting, sculpture, graphics. The artist also created a wonderful school of painters, declaring himself as an art theorist and an outstanding writer.
