The disk of the DirectMedia publishing house offers the reader the most voluminous collection of engravings: more than 5000 sheets. The publication familiarizes us with the history of European engraving from its origins in the 15th to the beginning of the 20th century. The basis of the collection is the engraving heritage of the great masters: Dürer, Kallo, Rembrandt, Piranesi, Goya, Daumier, Menzel, Degas, Toulouse-Lautrec. The work of other artists (more than 500 authors in total), displayed in this album, allows tracing the development of the art of printed graphics and presenting its various fields of application. In addition to easel engravings, the collection includes examples of book illustration - from 15th century books to the work of Gustave Doré. Another layer of printed graphics - folk pictures - introduces the works of folk art by Russian, Scandinavian, and Spanish masters. The new electronic edition completes the trilogy of DirectMedia disks devoted to classical fine arts: '5555 masterpieces of world painting', '5000 masterpieces of drawing', '5000 masterpieces of engraving'. This set allows you to fully visualize the history of European art from the Middle Ages to the early 20th century and a glimpse into the 'creative laboratory' of the great masters. You can trace the artist's preparatory work on a painting or engraving, variations of the same subject and its embodiment in a drawing, engraving or painting. The disk is addressed to art students, art theorists and all connoisseurs of the beautiful.
The disk presents the work of the following artists: Altdorfer, Baldung, Bruegel the Elder, Goya, Goltzius, Degas, Dobigny, Daumier, Dore, Dürer, Jonkind, Callot, Corot, Cranach, Luca of Leiden, Mantegna, Menzel, Millais, Piranesi, Rembrandt, Rowlandson, Segers, Toulouse-Lautrec, Whistler, Hogarth, Chodowiecki, Schongauer and many others.
