CDpc Watercolor. Pastel: graphics XVI-early XX centuries.

The originator of the art of pastel is considered to be Leonardo da Vinci himself. Many artists were attracted to pastel by the possibilities of free improvisation, unique richness of material texture and tone. The colors of velvety and airy pastel, glowing from within, never change their color, but easily crumble, and many beautiful works of the previous centuries have reached us in a damaged form.
The disk includes works by A. N. Benois, William Blake, Edgar Degas, Eugène Delacroix, M. V. Dobuzhinsky, Carl Larsson, Jean Lyotard, Gustave Moreau, Odilon Redon, Auguste Renoir, William Turner and many others.
