Cough is a reflexive process helping to remove foreign substances from the lower respiratory tract. Despite the fact that the cough is useful for the body, when there is an inflammation in the respiratory system, it causes a lot of trouble for patients. Especially if the cough is unproductive, when it is not accompanied by cleansing of the bronchi from impurities. The peculiarity of Mukaltin is that it can be used both for both dry unproductive cough and for wet cough, when sputum discharge is observed. In the case of the dry cough, due to the drug use, the cough becomes productive, and in the case of the wet cough, the drug is able to soften the cough. Mukaltin can be used both for chronic cough and for exacerbation of cough syndrome. The drug is indicated for the following diseases accompanied by a strong cough: laryngitis, tracheitis, tracheobronchitis, emphysema, tuberculosis, pneumonia, bronchitis,bronchiectatic disease, bronchial asthma. It should be remembered, however, that Mukaltin does not eliminate such cough causes as bacterial infection. Instead, it just facilitates its manifestations. Dosage: Adults take 1 pill 2 times a day before meals. It is recommended to dissolve the pill in 1/3 cup of warm water. Side effects: dyspeptic disorders (including nausea), rarely allergic reactions. Contraindications: hypersensitivity to the components of the drug; peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum.
