Gum turpentine [purified turpentine oil with a mass fraction of <α- and β-pinenes> at least 60%] in amount of 20 g. As the auxiliary substance, the emulsion of water and petroleum jelly, 80 g, is used. The ointment is yellowish-white and has the smell of the turpentine.This is the product of the natural origin. It has a local irritant, analgesic, distracting and antiseptic effect. It penetrates through the epidermis and as a result of the irritation of the skin receptors, it causes reflexive changes, promotes the release of some biologically active substances (including histamine) from the skin.
Also it is used as an adjunct for rheumatic pains, arthralgia, neuralgia, myalgia, lumboishialgia.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug; violation of the skin integrity or inflammatory diseases of the skin at the site of the intended application; pregnancy, breastfeeding; age up to 18 years. With caution, it s used for: hepatic and/or renal insufficiency.
Externally, 1-3 times a day. Apply to painful but undamaged areas of the skin and rub into it with light circular movements.
Side effects: Hyperemia and itching of the skin, allergic reactions. Do not allow the ointment to get on the mucous membranes and into the eyes. If the ointment gets into the eyes, rinse them thoroughly with plenty of water
