A decoction of licorice root is recommended as an expectorant tea for diseases of the upper respiratory tract, as well as with ulcerative disease of the stomach and duodenum.

The action of the root of the licorice can be defined as an expectorant, anti -inflammatory and antispastic. Therefore, the root of the licorice is used to treat cough.

In folk medicine, for coughing and other colds, a powder from a licorice root is often used, mixed with honey: 1/2 teaspoon of powder, the powder is mixed with 1 teaspoon of honey, taken 3 times a day. With an ulcer of the stomach and other gastric diseases, it is recommended to chew small pieces of root. This also helps when removing a hangover syndrome. Finally, tea from the root of the licorice is used as a slight laxative

Method of use
1 tbsp. A spoonful of raw materials is placed in enameled dishes, poured with a glass of hot boiled water, covered with a lid and heated in a water bath for 30 minutes with frequent stirring. Cool 10 minutes at room temperature, filter. The remaining raw materials are squeezed. The volume of the resulting decoction is brought with boiled water to 200 ml. Take 1 tbsp. spoon 3-4 times a day 30 minutes before meals
