Indications for Corvalol: As a sedative and vasodilator: functional disorders of the cardiovascular system; neurosis-like conditions, accompanied by increased irritability; falling asleep disorders; tachycardia; states of arousal with pronounced vegetative manifestations. As an antispasmodic agent: intestinal spasms.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug; severe renal and / or liver dysfunction.
Application during pregnancy and lactation:
Prescribing the drug during pregnancy is possible only on strict indications. If it is necessary to prescribe the drug during breastfeeding, the issue of stopping breastfeeding should be resolved.
Side effects of Corvalol:
Corvalol is generally well tolerated. In some cases, drowsiness and slight dizziness may occur during the daytime. With prolonged use of large doses, chronic bromine poisoning may develop, the manifestations of which are: depressive mood, apathy, rhinitis, conjunctivitis, hemorrhagic diathesis, impaired coordination.
Method of administration and dosage:
Inside. The dosage is set individually. Adults are usually prescribed 15-30 drops 3 times a day before meals. With tachycardia, a single dose may be increased to 40-50 drops. Children are prescribed 3-15 drops per day, depending on age and clinical picture of the disease. The duration of the drug use is set individually by the doctor.
Special instructions:
Patients taking Corvalol are not recommended to engage in activities associated with increased attention and requiring the speed of mental and motor reactions. With prolonged use of the drug, the formation of drug dependence is possible; the accumulation of bromine in the body and the development of poisoning by it is possible. If you experience any side (unusual) effects, you must inform your doctor about them.
