In the UK, some critics proclaimed the novel "Best Book for 25 years from one of the great English writers." The book, which is described from the point of view of the three chiefs of the concentration camp and is replete with German vocabulary, was rejected by all German publishers. The new novel of the classic of modern literature Martin Emis "Zone of interests" is a deeply original, partly provocative statement, again - and in a completely new way - fixing the attention of the reader on the theme of the Holocaust and the Second World War. Emis brings to the conversation about the horrors of the past intonation and shades that have never sounded in such a context. In Britain, the "Zone of Interests" was met with great attention and interest - the press called him the best novel by Martin Emis over the past twenty years and put him on a par with such significant and popular works about the Second World War as a “beneficiary” of Jonathan Littela , "Boy in the striped pajamas" John Boyne and "all the Light invisible to us" Anthony Dorra. There is no doubt that the publication of the novel in Russian will also cause a wide resonance - all the more so since such an authoritative and experienced master as Sergey Ilyin took up his translation.
