The book contains memories of the Russian Soviet poet and front-line soldier, translator David Samoylov (1920-1990) for the first time. The collection includes memoirs from relatives, students, and friends of the poet: Veniamin Smekhov, Yevgeny Yevtushenko, Igor Guberman, Alexander Gorodnitsky, Alexander Davydov, Viktor Perelygin, Lydia Libedinskaya, Mikhail Kozakov, Yulia Kim, Tamara Zhirmunskaya, and others. The book is illustrated with black and white archival photographs. The publication is intended for literary scholars, as well as all admirers of Russian literature of the second half of the 20th century.
