A collection of letters about Yoga Sri Aurobindo is not just an epistolary heritage of a great Indian thinker. He wrote most of these letters during the period of 14-year recluse (1926-1940), when they were the only means of communicating with students. Therefore, they contain a comprehensive lighting of the most diverse aspects of integral yoga, and answers to the most burning questions, and just reasoning on any topics raised (about art, politics, unusual phenomena, etc) The letters are conventionally arranged by the compilers of the collection in the form of sections on the theme prevailing in them, so each such section has an independent meaning and, despite the apparent disparate, its logic of development of the dominant idea. Reading these letters, you can easily enter the world of integral yoga, not along the path of methodical study of treatises, but quietly drawn into the relaxed atmosphere of the conversations of the great teacher with students
