The book of memoirs of one of the greatest masters of Russian graphics of the first half of the 20th century, Vladimir Alexeevich Milashevsky (1893–1976), is presented to the readers. It is not only a description of the artist's creative path in art. The memoirs cover the pre-war and revolutionary years of St. Petersburg-Petrograd, Moscow of the NEP era, the 1930s, and the post-war years. The publication is composed of literary novellas dedicated to prominent figures of literature and art of those years - Henri Barbusse, Andrei Bely, Anna Akhmatova, Alexei Tolstoy, and others. The poignancy of the perception of time and the uniqueness of the changing historical epochs conveyed by the author on the pages of the book give the memoirs a special value.
