Ya.B. Zeldovich is an outstanding scientist of the 20th century - made a huge contribution to many areas of science and technology. He was unique in the latitude of his interests - from the physics of burning and explosion, through nuclear weapons, to the most depths of astrophysics and cosmology. The famous English physicist S. Khoking before exploring Zeldovich believed that the surname Zeldovich was a pseudonym group of scientists (like Bombaki), so great was the number of results obtained by him. Landau said that he was not known for any physicist, excluding Fermi, who would have such wealth of ideas as Zeldovich.
