Elena Tolstaya is an Israeli philologist, a teacher of Russian literature, Associate Professor Hebrew University in Jerusalem, author of the monograph on Chekhov. Her works about Andrei Platonov, who were abroad, are only partially known to the Russian reader. In the present book, along with the cycle of articles on Platonov, there are works dedicated to the "White Spots" in the creative biography of Alexei Tolstoy, his unknown early play and the first sketch towards the goal of flour are published. The special section is devoted to the wonderful Russian symbolist symbolist Akim Volynsky, whose work has not yet been returned to the reader.
