World - theater. Architecture and set design in Russia

A book created in collaboration with the Academic Museum named after A.V. Shchuseva will present a very special look at the architecture of the theater and scenography in Russia. For the first time, architecture and construction of theatrical and spectacular structures are considered in parallel with the action that occurs inside these buildings themselves - on the stage. On the most diverse material: graphics, layouts, sketches, photographs, the history of theatrical spaces from the Baroque era to the present unfolds. Demonstrating a colossal amount of materials, including unrealized projects, and competitive proposals, and many structures and halls rebuilt today, it will allow step by step to trace the stages of the formation of the theater as a whole
