Applied behavior analysis, or ABA therapy, is successfully used to improve the lives of people with autism. Careful and systematic application of behavioral principles can effectively develop significant behaviors such as cognitive abilities, speech, social interaction, adaptive skills, and practical abilities. Additionally, by using these principles, behavior analysts successfully reduce problematic behaviors that are either dangerous or hinder a person from fully participating in family and society life.
The guide being offered to you was developed and written by the leaders of the international company Autism Partnership, one of the most authoritative scientific and experimental groups that have implemented ABA for behavior modification of children and teenagers with autism and created educational programs for their development.
The first part of the book is dedicated to describing the main educational method - 'teaching interaction', procedures for assessing social skills, and the algorithm for creating programs through task analysis and strategic analysis.
The second part contains 31 educational programs for teaching the most significant social skills. All programs from the curriculum are divided into five categories: 'Awareness of Social Environment', 'Social Communication', 'Social Interaction', 'Social Learning', 'Social Relationships'.
Recommended for specialists working with children with ASD, supervisors, ABA therapists, parents, and students of special education, psychology, and pedagogy faculties at universities.
All programs are adapted for teaching in Russian.
