Venerable Gabriel of Samtavro (Urgabadze) is one of the most revered and beloved contemporary Georgian saints. However, during his lifetime, his sanctity was hidden from many due to the peculiarities of the ascetic feat he undertook as a fool-for-Christ. This book collects memories of the last years of Father Gabriel's life in the Samtavro monastery. Sincerely and without embellishment, the then nuns of Samtavro, now abbesses and residents of the Mgvimevi monastery, share their experiences of interacting with the elder, as well as the inspired period of the revival of Christianity and monasticism in Georgia after the Soviet persecutions.
