The novel of the modern French writer Jeanne Buren tells of one of the most famous and tragic episodes of the spiritual history of medieval Europe - the love of the great philosopher Pierre Abelar (1079-1142) and his student Eloise. Passion brought to both “great lovers" not only the highest pleasure, but also countless suffering: the abeller as an adopted priest could not "wash away the sin of adultery", and the uncle of Eloise through his henchmen subjected his shameful fragmentation. Eloise continued her life path in the monastery, but carried through all the trials a great love for her chosen one.
