"The Wild Boys, or The Book of the Dead," the first novel of the "London" trilogy, which also includes "The Insect God" and "The Dead Star," tells the story of a group of teenage marauders terrorizing the cities of North Africa. In Burroughs' grotesque, romantic, and nightmarish masterpiece, technology, flesh, and violence penetrate each other, merging into a bacchanalia of mutual destruction. This work inspired the band Duran Duran to create the famous song of the same name from the album Arena.
