On the Hawaiian word "Wiki" means "quick", and the authors vividly describe the changeable world of the Internet community, mass or global cooperation, and the fact that these changes mean for business and technology. The most famous example is Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia, which is written, compiled, edit and re-edit "ordinary people". The book discusses the less well-known success stories of global cooperation such as Procter & Gamble, BMW, LEGO and a group of niche IT and software companies. The authors argue that, perhaps, we are dealing with the birth of a new era, a golden age, similar to Italian revival and Athenian democracy, and give business leaders an idea of the wide opportunities of mass cooperation
