In our time, many baptized people in the Orthodox Church have forgotten in whose name the Sacrament was performed over them and to whom they will have to answer. The mandatory dedication of one day a week, as commanded by the Lord, to the One who created us and continues to nourish and protect us, is not such a great sacrifice, especially since it is needed not by God, but by man. The soul suffocates without the Lord, and by participating in the divine services and nourishing oneself with His grace, it blossoms anew and is transformed, breaking free from the burden of futility leading to a dead end. Futility insists that there is a lot of work, and on weekends you need to spend time with children, do household chores, or have fun with friends. But what is the point of chasing after a quantity of dead deeds?
