The book consists of two of the most important theoretical works by the leading Polish researcher in the field of morality. The work "Chivalric Ethos and Its Varieties" is dedicated to examining the varieties and evolution of the chivalric ethos, starting from antiquity and ending with modern history. In "Bourgeois Morality," the formation and development of norms and values of bourgeois morality and the inherent personal behavioral patterns are thoroughly analyzed. In the course of examining historical types of morality, the author extensively draws on material from literary works, journalism, memoirs, ethnographic and sociological studies, making it possible to recommend the book not only to specialists in the history of ethics but also to a wide range of readers.
