Vladimir Ilyich Frolov, having graduated from the Forestry Technical Academy, worked for more than 30 years as an engineer-tacter in forestry of the Leningrad, Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, Irkutsk regions. During the field seasons, he worked with the workers, sharing all the joys and hardships with them, led brigades for the sowing and cutting of forests, extinguished forest fires. The author of the book was a literary employee of district newspapers for many years, wrote essays and sketches about workers of leshoz and taiga villages, was repeatedly awarded regional literary prizes.
The story "White partridges" talks about one of the field seasons in the Murmansk region. In the center of the story is an acute psychological conflict that arose in connection with a forest fire. In the search for the culprits, forestry, district police, and the prosecutor"s office are involved. In his work, the author sharply poses the problem of responsibility for the fate of nature and the "Russian forest" before the upcoming generations
