Mikhail Afanasevich Bulgakov (1891–1940) - Russian writer, playwright, author of novels, stories and short stories, feuilletons, plays, staging, film scenaries and opera libretto.
The first novel of the writer “White Guard” (1923) describes the history of the family of Russian intellectuals and their friends, which unfolds against the background of a complex and tragic period - the civil war. This work is based on Bulgakov’s memoirs about the events taking place in Kyiv in 1918-1919.
The book also included the story Dog heart. The plot is based on a fantastic story about how the courtyard of the ball as a result of a surgical operation carried out by the famous professor Preobrazhensky turns into aggressive rude and Sharikov"s drunkard. M. Bulgakov wrote this story in 1925, however, like many other works of the author, it was published after his death - only in 1987
