The Arctic Ocean hides many secrets and mysteries. One of them is the mystical disappearance of the experienced polar explorer Vladimir Alexandrovich Rusanov. Rusanov gave his heart to the North in his student years. In 1909, he became a participant in the 1st Novaya Zemlya Expedition. He achieved the incredible feat of not only exploring the northern part of the island but also the southern part, which had never been done before. After this expedition, Vladimir Alexandrovich matured an incredible idea: to organize a journey through the Arctic Ocean. "No other route can be more profitable than the Northern Sea Route. No other route can be created faster. I would consider the goal achieved if my call to conquer the ice was heard as a call to the power, greatness, and glory of Russia," said the experienced polar explorer V.A. Rusanov. In 1912, Vladimir Rusanov decided to undertake a daring attempt to pass through the Northern Sea Route from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean on a small vessel. Rusanov's expedition disappeared, and only in 1934 were the first traces of it found off the western coast of the Taymyr Peninsula. In the 1970s, another campsite of Rusanov's expedition was found, but the circumstances of the tragic demise of the expedition remain a mystery to this day. The Arctic has not yet revealed the secrets of the demise of Rusanov's expeditions, and there are still those who try to solve this puzzle. The mysterious demise of Vladimir Rusanov's expedition and the attempts to unravel this mystery are told in the book offered to the reader.
