This is the first in Russian "Biography" of Goethe"s famous novel. It is no coincidence that a train of imitations reaches for the "verter". His resonance is extremely great - from naive responses of the first readers to modern love novels.
The depth of analysis and scientific objectivity do not prevent the author from taking care of the fascinating narrative - he wittily plays with the reader in literary reminiscence. The story subtly conveys the atmosphere of the era and is based on documentary evidence. Almost a third of the book is dedicated to the "Russian paths of Werther.
