The book that you hold in your hands is the fruit of creativity of a whole team of Finnish scientists, economists, sociologists and eco -activists. In 2008, they gathered in order to try to imagine how future the future would look in 15 years, when the usual non-renewable resources would begin to be exhausted, and the effects of the impact of human civilization to climate will be noticeable on a global scale.
The result of their work was four scenarios for the development of peace, human society and consumer culture between 2008 and 2023. According to their forecasts, there will be no complete abandonment of consumerism, but its forms will change radically and irreversibly together with public values and political priorities. As it often happens with attempts to predict the future, our reality has not coincided completely with any of the described scenarios, but some elements of each of them are embodied before our eyes
