In January 2015, B.P. and L.A. Nikitins We, our children and grandchildren with the preface of Lyudmila Petranovskaya.
Its basis is the domestic bestsellers in family pedagogy “Are we right” (1963) and “We and our children” (1979), as well as articles and interviews of the Nikitin from the 1963 to the 90s.

New materials were also included in the two -volume edition of 2015: an interview with the grown children of the Nikitins, analytical articles and information about everyday life. This allows you to look somewhat more voluminous at the phenomenon of the most famous large family of Russia for the last half -century.

The motto of the Nikitins was The interests of the child - in the first place! In caring for their children, they immediately chose the path, radically different from the generally accepted: hardening with cold and physical education, an installation to overcome physical difficulties, early intellectual development. By their own admission, at first they moved to the touch, trying to follow the needs of the child.

When the first child was born in the Nikitins in 1959, they began to keep a diary where observations of the physical and psychological development of their son were recorded. So they began to do for all children. In 1963, the first book of the Nikitins “Are we right?”, Causing a lot of discussions, articles, performances.

Official medicine did not accept the methods of the Nikitins, but parents were drawn to them for experience, many people helped them when Boris Pavlovich fired from work, those who called themselves the followers of the Nikitins began to appear. Support came from scientists, the cardiac surgeon of the academician N.M. Amosov, physiologist of Professor I.A. Arshavsky. The first wrote a preface to the book “We and our children”, the second - afterword.

Information on the most pressing issues of pediatrics and child psychology in the country was disastrous. Books and articles of the Nikitins in many respects replenished this information starvation, as they contained many useful information and direct tips for parents. And since they were written in a good and understandable language, very soon they began to be perceived as benefits for parenthood and motherhood. And, despite the fact that they were produced by huge, millions of circulations, they were never laid down on the shelves. From the publication, to the publication, they did not lose relevance: after all, the problems of caring for babies, development and education, relations of fathers and children are eternal.

The Nikitins" experience was interested in the border. Their books were translated into 10 languages, published in Germany, Japan and other countries. In total, from 1963 to 2009, the total circulation of Nikitin’s books exceeded 7 million copies
