Bob Johansson, an engineer and a fan of the 'Star Trek' universe, signs a contract with a cryonics company that promises to preserve his brain after death and give him a new life when science reaches sufficient progress. But Bob could not have imagined the twist he would find himself in upon waking up 117 years later. America is now ruled by religion, the cryonics company has gone bankrupt and sold its frozen 'clients' at an auction. Now Bob is a 'replicant', a copy, a digitized personality without a body.
