War, trouble, dream and youth! Art and war

In April 2015, at St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin at the Russian Academy of Arts Passed the International Scientific Conference "" War, Bed, Dream and Youth! " Art and war. By the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, with the support of the Russian Humanitarian Scientific Foundation. The conference united more than 70 participants from Russia, Germany, Kazakhstan, China, Lebanon and other countries. This collection is compiled based on the conference materials and includes nearly 60 artistical studies, artists, historians and cultural scientists. It discusses the development of milestones of visual arts and architecture during the Great Patriotic War, the problems of preserving and reviving the monuments of art affected by the military period are studied, the topic of war and victory in the art of the East and the West of the second half of the XX century of the XXI century is reflected. The breadth of material coverage, a variety of forms of its comprehension and interpretations, the presence of eyewitness evidence and the use of archival documentation determine the value and uniqueness of this publication
