Tolik Ryzhikov is an ordinary schoolboy. A little lazy, a little boastful, and sometimes he likes to lie. And one day he got a box of matches in his hands, not simple ones, but magical ones. The main characters of the stories 'Carousel over the city' and 'A, B, V, G, D and others...', physics teacher Alexey Palych and his assistant Borya, experienced something no less amazing - an alien settled in their laboratory! The guest from space arrived on Earth with an important mission - to learn how to experience emotions from humans. However, the alien must not reveal himself to anyone except his new friends. But in a small town where two out of every three people know each other, it is very difficult for Alexey Palych and Borya to keep the visitor from a distant planet a secret!
In 1971, based on the story 'Walking through the city, the wizard', the film 'The Secret of the Iron Door' was released, directed by Mikhail Yuzovsky. And the plot of the story 'Carousel over the city' became the basis for another film 'Summer Impressions about the Planet Z'.
