The history of the creation and service and combat activities of the Russian National People"s Army (RNNA) is one of the least illuminated pages in the literature dedicated to collaborationism. The formation of the RNA is one of the first relatively large-scale attempts of German intelligence (Abver and Division & Quot, Foreign Army East & Quot,) and Command of the Army Group & Quot, Center & Quot, create a capable Russian collaborationist compound on the East Front. The experiment of RNA continued relatively long - from March 1942 to November 1943 (when the battalions of this compound were transferred to the West Front - to France) Throughout this time, the formation was constantly in the orbit of the struggle of the competences of various German departments and the views of the Nazi leadership on the problem of using Russian collaborators in the war against the USSR. Of particular interest is that during its existence, the rank of RNN was carried by an upgraded Soviet form
