A novel about wartime, about the complex fates and dangerous work of unknown heroes who joined the strike force of "Beria's special forces".
1944. The Soviet command receives intelligence reports that retreating fascists are preparing to contaminate the area in western Ukraine. To do this, they intend to distribute poisoned children's toys, sweets, and clothing in populated areas. The group led by Maxim Shelestov is tasked with finding and destroying the train carrying the dangerous "gifts". The operatives arrive at the laboratory where the monsters conducted experiments on children and find the documentation they are interested in. Perhaps it indicates the location where the deadly virus is stored... Shelestov realizes that the embittered Hitlerites, facing failure, can implement their plan at any moment. The countdown has begun...
