The second edition of the book (the previous one was released in 2010) examines the subject, history, and prospects of victimology, as well as the existing types and forms of violence. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the formation of increased victimization of the individual, or the 'victim phenomenon'. Various situations in which a person becomes a victim are also discussed, namely: criminal offenses, specific types of violence such as violence against children, domestic violence, sexual violence (rape), school violence, and workplace violence. Victimology of addictive behavior is analyzed. Approaches to individual counseling in each of the mentioned cases are described, as well as group work in the form of training sessions. The publication is aimed at practicing psychologists and psychotherapists working with latent or realized victims of various circumstances. The book is valuable primarily for its collection of techniques that a specialist can use in practical work.
