Austrian writer Leopold von Sacher-Masoch gained worldwide fame for his works where the main theme is the power of a beautiful and despotic woman over a weak man, with the man deriving pleasure from physical and emotional violence inflicted by the woman (masochism). The most famous story by the author included in this collection is "Venus in Furs" (1870), written by him after a difficult breakup with his beloved, Fanny von Pistor, as well as stories from the cycle "Demonic Women". In the garden on a moonlit night, Severin meets Venus - her name is Wanda. The goddess offers Severin to become her slave. A thrilling story full of sensual emotions that the "slave" Severin experiences towards his Mistress. In the role of Mistress, Wanda makes the hero sign a contract, according to which his life now belongs entirely to her. But as long as she wears her furs, Severin is happy.
