This work of the outstanding Russian scholar-patrol of Sergey Leontyevich Epifanovich (1886-1918), Professor of the Kiev Spiritual Academy, Inok to the Peace, as contemporaries called him, is an extraction, some kind of quintestence, from his unpublished master"s thesis about the reverend Majima confessor. Such extraction was done by him due to the circumstances of the troubled time with the aim of at least partial publication of labor, which became the main thing about the short life of this wonderful theologian.
The severity and maturity of theological philosophical thought of the present work, its integrity and consistency of the thought of the patristic, despite the duration of the past time, make it modern and incredit in the transfer of the universal word of St. Maxim - maybe more than other holy fathers of the system verbal.
