The royal ship "VAC", one of the largest in the navy of the Swedish king Gustav II Adolf, was discovered at the sea at the entrance to Stockholm Bay on April 24, 1961. "Vasa" is the only vessel that has reached us since the beginning of the 17th century. His swim was short -lived - from the strength of about twenty minutes. But the Swedish fleet totaled three dozen large ships, and the finds from the "Vasa" allowed to learn a lot about the life of military sailors.
All illustrations for this book were done by Sven Nurdvist. He carefully studied the ship - from the inside and outside, carefully examined the finds and models exhibited at the Vasa Museum, and talked with many researchers.
