This book contains work on Russian classical literature from Pushkin to Chekhov, very different on its topics. The author considers individual narratives (epic) and dramatic works in their various angles and contexts. The book also includes studies of a more general nature (laughter as an image of the image in the works of writers, righteousness and aesthetics of life in the work of Leskov and other authors).
The monograph consists of three sections. The first characterizes the dispute of literary critics, philosophers, political figures, publicists and critics of the beginning of the 20th century on the national classics of the previous century. The second section is devoted to the creations of Pushkin"s pores of its creative maturity. In the third, we are talking about literature 1860 - the beginning of the 1900s
