The book is dedicated to the analysis of changes in the Soviet foreign policy towards the Kuomintang (Nationalist Party of China) during the period of 1923-1942. Based on published and archival materials, the development of Soviet-Chinese cooperation is examined as a comprehensive and continuous process. The work demonstrates how under the influence of international circumstances and domestic factors, the Soviet Union's policy towards the Kuomintang underwent a transformation from prioritizing support for the communist, national-liberation movement to a pragmatic geopolitical approach, based on the idea of securing the Soviet Far Eastern borders. The author traces the path from the formation of a cooperation strategy with the Kuomintang and decision-making to the implementation of specific support measures in the political and military spheres.
