The monograph is dedicated to the internal life of the Uspensky Tikhvin Monastery during the tenure of Archimandrite Bogolep (1697-1708). Based on new archival data, the author analyzed internal conflicts within the monastery that hindered the clergy from defending common class interests in the face of severe royal decrees. The most significant documents on the research topic are published in the Appendix. The publication is intended for historians and all those interested in Russian history.
