Using MS Excel and MS Project to solve economic problems

The manual is written on the basis of modern textbooks and workshops on the economy, manuals on the use of spreadsheets and creating thematic websites within the project Educational Network Olympiads" project (OSO-2006) The OSO-2005 project is the nominee of the international competition "IT education in RuNet" (http://ict.edu.ru/konkurs).
The book consists of two sections. The material of the first section is presented in the form of classes with tasks containing their execution algorithms. Olympiad tasks with detailed analysis of solutions are made to a separate part. Classes are built in such a way that the reader may step by step independently study the issues of economic theory and use the capabilities of spreadsheets when solving problems. The manual is written in relation to the MS Excel software environment, but it can be successfully adapted for other software environments that implement the capabilities of spreadsheets. In the second section of the book, there is a student on the topic: "Drawing up a project plan in MS Project" environment, which reflects the main stages of planning and project management using the MS Project program in Windows 98/2000. The material can be used by the managers of various levels, as well as students with specialized schools, colleges and universities, when studying the topic: "Compilation of business plans".
The book will be useful to a wide range of readers - teachers of economics and informatics, students of lyceum, colleges, schoolchildren, and can also be used as a textbook for independent study or as a detailed methodological manual. The book is included in the collection of publications of the project of the OSO-2006.
