An epistolary love novel (18+). Three fragments of the main character's life: student - engineer - pensioner. Yet the main intrigue of the novel is the captivating evolution of the main character's correspondence partner, transforming a beautiful village girl first into a daring horsewoman, a collective farm zootechnician, an enviable beauty-bride, then into a mature, irresistibly beautiful woman, a provincial party goddess, wielding 'burnished iron' to purge 'immorality' from the leading cadres in a small Siberian town. And finally, in her advanced age, experiencing a personal 'sexual revolution', her unfulfilled true feminine happiness. Unexpectedly and avalanche-like, the love that engulfs her raises in the soul of the former party goddess, the district's moral standard, such layers of sensuality and freedom that the victims of her ruthless party activities could never have dreamed of.
