The Upanishads are a collection of ancient Indian treatises related to the sacred scriptures of Hinduism, representing an outstanding monument of world spiritual culture. The fourth revised and expanded edition of the Upanishads includes a reprint reproduction of three books published by the Main Editorial Office of Eastern Literature of the 'Nauka' Publishing House in 1964-1967 in the series 'Monuments of Literature of the Peoples of the East' and 'Monuments of Eastern Literature': the oldest - 'Brihadaranyaka' and 'Chandogya', other major Upanishads of lesser volume, a number of later examples of this genre translated fully or partially, and the Vedantic treatise 'Atmabodha' (first published in 1965), as well as a list of works by the outstanding Sanskritologist and translator A.Ya.
