The textbook is intended for the 6th grade of the main comprehensive school. Corrects the "compulsory minimum ..." (1998) and the federal component of the state standard of general education (2004), is a continuation of the continuous course and an integral part of the set of textbooks of the educational system "School 2100". In accordance with its concept, the text, the methodological apparatus and illustrative series are designed for personality -oriented training in the technology of problematic dialogue. For theoretical understanding of history, the concepts of a civilizational approach were used. Much attention is paid to the relationship of various civilizations of the Middle Ages, their contribution to universal culture. The textbook was created in a single methodological and psychological manner with other textbooks of the educational system "School 2100": in history, literature, Russian, natural science and other subjects.
