"The unfortunate Nikanor, or the adventure of the life of the Russian nobleman H *********" is a scientific edition of the popular anonymous novel of the second half of the 18th century. The composition is interesting both as the fact of the background of mass literature, and as a reflection of the life and language of the era, and as an example of interweaving of a book tradition and document. The additions have not reproduced by A.P. Nazaryev, who were not reproduced for two and a half centuries, whose official biography was partially reflected in the novel, which allows to perceive the text as a romanization of the life of a real person and to assume that A.P. Nazaryev was not only a hero, but and the author of the work
