Interdisciplinary The study is aimed at a multi-level and multifactoric analysis of ideas about the Russian Empire, which appeared in the United States in the 1880-1910s. The semantic design of the book becomes discourses given by the text about Russia and due to the internal and foreign policy agenda of the American society, as well as its sociocultural characteristics. The work is addressed to researchers, teachers and students. It is of interest for politicians, as it gives answers to questions about what prevents the lining of the sober policy of the United States in relation to Russia and what is the understanding of its image in the West
